Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness journey.

The Unstoppable Journey: How Arnold Made a Body and a Dream.

It is not only a tale of muscles but of a burning ambition, hard work and a vision that went way beyond the gym wall by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The basis of all that he became is his fitness journey which began in a small village in Austria and altered the history of bodybuilding forever.

A Spark in Austria

Arnold was a skinny boy as a young boy in post-war Austria. Arnold had other ambitions and his father was the strict police chief who wanted him to play soccer. The first time he entered a gym was at the age of 15. Once he put his hand on the barbell and could feel his muscles contract, he was addicted. He would peep magazine images of strong models such as Reg Park and could immediately say: he was to be a champion bodybuilder, to quit his small town, and to be somebody.

The Relentless Grind

Training was not a hobby to Arnold it was an obsession. At the time when friends were out socializing, he was at the gym, and occasionally trained 6 hours per day, 6 days a week. His process was named The Theory of Shocking the Muscle. In his opinion, you just could not do the same exercises; to make the muscles develop, you needed to challenge the muscles with something new, with heavier weight and severe exercises.

He paid attention to what he referred to as the Aesthetic Ideal - it was not merely about being large, but about the creation of a perfectly sculpture-like figure by the ideal balance of proportions. He would work the lagging body parts such as his calves, to hundreds of reps to the point of screaming. He was legendary in his discipline. A high-protein diet that included drinking raw eggs, meat, and incredible quantities of milk and cottage-cheese was followed, all way ahead of protein shakes.

Conquering America

He entered broken English and had very little money, and that is why at the age of 21 he went to the land of opportunity, the United States. He also trained at the popular Gold gym of Venice Beach, California which has been his new temple. He is there together with other legends, pushing to the boundaries what the human body can accomplish.

His winning formula was the combination of three things:

Impeccable Work Ethic: He wouldn’t be out-trained.

Keen intellect: He attended anatomy school, and the psychology of rivalry.

Showmanship: He was aware of the fact that bodybuilding was performance. He posed hours, and developed a stage presence that was strong, charismatic and memorable.

This blend made him to be the winner of the best prize of the sport, Mr. Olympia, seven times, a record that lasted many decades.

Beyond the Gym: A Blueprint to Life.

Physical strength was not always a part of the fitness philosophy embraced by Arnold. He once said in a famous quote, the mind is the limit. You can do whatever the mind can fantasize. The success, ambition and self-esteem that he gained in the gym transformed to be his way of life.

He employed the same concentration to emerge as a successful businessman, a movie star in movies such as the terminator all over the world and finally, the Governor of California. Gym taught him that the improvements were made step-by-step, rep-by-rep. You begin with a vision, you create the plan and you do the job every single day, at any cost.

Simple Lessons of Arnold to Everybody.

You need not desire to have the seven-inch biceps to read his story:

. Begin With a Determined Object: Visualize it beforehand. Whether it is that you lose 10 pounds or you get stronger, there should be an end point.

. Be Consistent: You are not going to make one heroic workout. It is done by just showing up even when you do not feel like doing it.

. Get Out of Comfort: Growth occurs as a result of pushing yourself. Put on a bit more weight, do another repetition, eat some different vegetable.

. It is a Marathon, Not a Sprint: Bodies and lives are not made in a day. You should be patient and have faith in the process.

Now at the age of 70s, Arnold continues to train (but now lighter) and encourages all ages to stay fit. His story helps us remember that the weights we push in the gym are not only muscle-making, but also making discipline, strong will and the personality with which to make our own futures. The trip starts with one rep, and where you go is your business.

How to grow calves?

How to grow forearms muscles?

Forearms are the most neglected muscle group in training, yet they are important in grip strength, general arm appearance and in activities such as deadlifts, pull-ups and rows. To have well-developed forearms, you should have specific exercises and intelligent training plans. These are five useful tips that you can use to get stronger and bigger forearms. 1. Isolation Exercises to Train Forearms Although compound exercises such as deadlifts and rows are good at working the forearms, they are insufficient to ensure maximum growth. Include isolation movements to stimulate the muscles to the maximum: .Wrist Curls (Palms Up & Down) Wrist curls (palms up) and reverse wrist curls (palms down) should be performed with dumbbells or a barbell to work flexors and extensors. .Plate Pinches - Grab weight plates between your fingers in order to enhance pinch grip strength. .Reverse Barbell Curls- This exercise focuses on the brachioradialis (forearm muscle) but also the biceps.
